In 2023, Formerly known as PrinterLogic, is now PrinterCloud; this software simplifies management of printers on your computer. Some features include:
- Automatically installs the primary printers and copiers for your home site (i.e. your school or Room 9).
- Automatically adds and removes the primary printers and copiers for any other site that you visit.
- For example, when you visit 18th Ave for OTOS you will automatically have the primary printers and copiers for that site.
- Allows you to add any printer or copier through an easy-to-use web portal.
Below are instructions on how you can use this software.
How to install PrinterCloud
If you received a computer from Tech, you already have PrinterCloud installed. If not, please follow these instructions to install the software.
- You will be prompted to enable PrinterCloud in your web browser, preferably Chrome.
- You will not need to restart your computer after this installation. PrinterCloud will start working as soon as the installation is complete.
PrinterCloud Portal
- At the bottom right hand corner of your screen, you should see an Up Arrow icon . Click this to open the System Tray icons.
- Click the PrinterCloud icon once to launch the portal. This action launches the following URL on your browser: https://ktaf.printercloud.com/ You can also bookmark this site to easily access the portal or view it in your extensions shortcut.
Adding Printers
- Once the portal launches, it will automatically open the folder of the location you are currently at, if you are onsite. From here, you can click into the floor that the printer you want installed is located on.
- Click the printer of your choice once to open an install prompt. You do not need admin rights to install printers.
See list of installed printers
- From the Systems Tray icon, right click the PrinterCloud icon.
- Left click on View Installed Printers...
Refresh Configuration
In the event that you do something in the PrinterCloud portal like adding a printer, or you arrive at a location but don’t have printers installed through automatic deployment, you may need to manually refresh configurations to force propagation of the policies to your laptop.
- From the Systems Tray icon, right click the PrinterLogic icon.
- Left click Refresh Configurations.
- Check to see if the updates propagated. This may take several minutes. If the changes still do not propagate, please restart your device. If the portal still doesn't update to the current site's printers and copiers, please open a ticket by emailing technology@kippnj.org.
