What must volunteers do before helping in our schools?

Thank you for being so thoughtful about organizing volunteers!  In order to keep our kids and schools safe, all recurrent, student-facing volunteers over the age of 13 need to provide the following 3 things prior to starting their service in our schools.

•  A cleared background check
• A signed FERPA Confidentiality Agreement
• A signed Recurrent Volunteer Waiver

Please be aware that the background check could take up to 3 weeks to complete.  Attached is the ‘KNJ Volunteer Welcome Letter’ template with instructions to send directly to volunteers.  Please use that and the attached forms.

 Once you have these items completed, please email them in one email to [e-mail], along with a brief description of the following.

• Type of service
• Dates of service
• Location of service
