As an employee transitioning out of the KIPP TEAM and Family, TEAM Academy Charter Schools, KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy or KIPP Miami Schools, your Aetna Medical and/or Dental and/or Vision coverage will terminate at the end of the month of your termination date.
For example, if your last date of employment is June 22nd, your benefits will end on June 30th. Effective July 1st you will have the opportunity to enroll in COBRA benefits (continued benefits).
It can take 7-10 business days from your benefits termination date to receive COBRA materials from our COBRA vendor Inspira Financial. Unfortunately, our office does not manage this step but you can reach out directly to Inspira Financial for assistance with any questions or concerns you may have.
Once enrolled in COBRA, it will be effective the day after your benefits end and you have the option to enroll in all plans (medical, dental, vision), some plans, one plan, or no plans. At any point if you decide you do not need medical any longer, but do need vision or dental, you have the option to cancel the medical benefit, vice versa or all of the above. The COBRA benefits will be the same as the current benefits you have. Please review the benefits portal at www.kippteamandfamilybenefits.org for additional detail.
