The New Jersey pension system does not allow out-of-state pension transfers. However, you can roll your previous pension account funds into the Alerus 403b retirement account plan.
You can rollover previous retirement funds (i.e. pension, 401(k), 403(b), IRA, etc.) into your new Alerus Retirement and Benefits 403(b) account. In order to move forward with the rollover process, you must have an active Alerus account. All newly hired employees in the onboarding or pre-start phase must be active employees to begin this process.
Rollover Contribution – Getting Started
- Step 1: Contact your previous retirement account holder to complete the necessary documentation to rollover your funds into your Alerus account.
- If your previous retirement account holder mails your distribution check directly to you, please mail the check to the Alerus address found under Step 1 of the first page of the Alerus Rollover Contribution Form. Do not mail to Human Resources.
- Step 2: Complete the Alerus Rollover Contribution Form that can be found on the KIPP benefits portal, kippteamandfamilybenefits.org, or your secure online Alerus account, www.alerusrb.com.
- Step 3: Once you have completed the Alerus Rollover Contribution Form, forward your document directly to humanresources@kippteamandfamily.org for processing.
