Starting in the 2019-20 school year, middle schools and high schools in Newark will automatically send progress reports to parents every Thursday through the DeansList Family Portal.
In order to receive and e-sign reports, families must register for the DeansList Family Portal - this can be done through the DeansList for Families app (iOS and Android) or on the web at http://deanslist.me
This article also contains links to GPA letters for students in all Newark middle and high schools which need to be sent home by Friday, 8/30 - these letters contain information about GPAs, their importance, and how they're calculated, as well as information on how to track GPAs, and suggestions for parents on how to help invest kids in the importance of GPAs.
Options for signing families up for DeansList
Option 1: Lead an in-person session with families, using the slide deck and validation code letters printed from DeansList
Option 2: Provide handout with directions for parents along with validation code letters printed from DeansList
Option 3: Send sign-up information home with GPA letters
All schools will be sending home the GPA letters. Please note, however, that the more times and formats this information is provided to families, the more will sign up for the service.
