Mass Enroll
Once you have a student selection, there are a lot of options for manipulating their information in PowerSchool—we’re going to focus on the “Mass Enroll” function (video of full process).
- Using the drop down menu on the bottom right of the Current Student Selection dialog, select “Mass Enroll” (be careful, as there are other similarly-named options)
- Under “Quick Enroll” in the “Course.Section” box, enter the course number, a period, and the section number with no spaces (eg. HR.0Howard to enroll students into the homeroom with the section number “0Howard”)
- You can also use the filters below under “Filter By” to search for a section if you don’t have the exact course number or section number handy
- Leave the “Entry Date” on the next screen as today, but the standard practice during the year is to make the “Entry Date” the day before the student will actually join the class
- Verify that everything looks correct and click “Enroll Students” on the bottom of the page
Dropping and moving multiple students
Now that we’ve enrolled students into this section, let’s undo that process by dropping students from a section:
- On the Start Page, access the Sections page by going to Setup > School > Sections
- Click on the course you need to drop students from (in this case, “HR”)
- Click the section enrollment number
- Clear the Select All check box
- Select five student names
- Click Drop from this Class
- Check Clear Attendance on and after Exit Date
- Scroll down to Drop Students
You can also use this page to enroll students into a different section (to switch homerooms, for instance)—just remember to come back and drop students from the original section if you are enrolling them in another section of the same course.
