DeansList can trigger automatic alerts via text message or email every time a staff member initiates a referral. We can also segment these alerts so that certain staff members receive alerts about particular grade levels or referral categories.
Types of Referral Alerts:
- Email: Sends emails to specific email addresses entered into the Referral Alerts configuration page
- Text Message: Sends text messages to specific phone numbers entered into the Referral Alerts configuration page
- Student's Homeroom Teachers: Sends emails to all educators on a student's Homeroom roster
- Student's Advisor Emails: Sends emails to all educators on a student's Advisory roster
- Initiating User Email: Sends an email to the user who initiated the referral.
- GroupMe Bot: Sends referral alerts to a GroupMe chat.
- Push Notification: Sends a push notification to the DeansList for Educators app to the specific user that is selected.
1) Go to Admin > Feature Configuration
2) Under Incidents select "Referral Alerts"
3) Toggle the dropdown for either an email or text. Type in the Recipient's name in the first text box and their phone number or email in the second.
**do not include parentheses, dashes, etc. in the phone number**
You can add filters so that people receive emails only from a grade or referral category.

If you would like to receive notifications for all referral categories, you do not have to add any filters (see screenshot below for example)
