How to Troubleshoot USB/SmartBoard Issues

Problem:
SmartBoard Drivers do not install or are not recognized after a USB is plugged in.

Solution

1. Restart the computer and press Enter on your keyboard when you see the ThinkPad startup screen (as shown below).
   
   
2. On the Startup Interrupt Menu (as shown below) Press F1 on your keyboard to select the BIOS Setup Utility.
   
   
3. Using the Left and Right Arrow Keys, navigate to the Config menu.
4. Using the Up and Down Arrow Keys, navigate to the USB selection and press Enter
5. Using the Up and Down Arrow Keys, navigate to the USB 3.0 Mode selection and press Enter to change the selection from [Auto] to [Disabled]
   
   
6. Press F10 on your keyboard and choose [Yes], press Enter to save the changes and restart your computer.
7. On your next login, plug in the SmartBoard USB and the drivers will now install automatically.
