Purpose:
This document outlines the steps to enroll in Google Multifactor Authentication (Google 2-Step Verification) using Text Messages (SMS) or Automated Voice calling. Note that SMS Authentication is the least secure option and should not be used unless absolutely necessary.

Text Message (SMS) or Automated Voice Enrollment

Open your Google Chrome Browser and navigate to “https://accounts.google.com” and sign-in to your Google account.

Click “Security & sign-in” in the left side navigation menu.

Click "2-Step Verification phone" under the “How you sign in to Google” section.

Click “+ Add phone number” under the “2-Step Verification phones” section.
- Enter a valid phone number that can receive text messages (SMS) or voice.

Choose the appropriate option, click “Next”, click "Save", and click "Turn on"

Verify that your phone number is correct and click "Turn on 2-Step Verification" on the "Turn on 2-Step Verification" page.

Google's confirmation:
You have successfully set up the “2-Step Verification Phones” enrollment method!!! The next time you log in, you will be prompted to use MFA!!!
