Google 2-Step Verification (2SV): Enabling Google 2SV

Purpose:

Google MFA, Google 2SV, provides a significant security boost by requiring a second verification step in addition to your password making it much harder for unauthorized individuals to access your account.

This document outlines the steps to enable Google 2SV on your Google account.

Enable Google 2-Step Verification

Note:  Please Generate Backup Codes after enabling Google 2SV.

1. Open your Google Chrome Browser and navigate to your "https://kippnj.okta.com” and sign-in to your Okta account.

   

2. Click the “G Suite Account” tile.  You will be taken to your “Google Account”.

   

3. Click “Security” in the left side navigation menu

   

4. Click "2-Step Verification" under the “How you sign in to Google” section.

   

5. Under “Turn on 2-Step verification,” click “Turn on 2-Step Verification”

   

6. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish enrolling your first authentication method, Text Message (SMS) or Voice.

   

7. Your Google Account is protected with Google 2-Step Verification!!!  Click “Done”!!!

   

You have successfully enabled Google 2-Step Verification on your Google Account!!!  Be ready to use Google 2SV at your next sign-on!!!
