How to Reduce Your Outlook Mailbox Size

Mailbox Cleanup

The best place to start is to open the Mailbox Cleanup tool.

1. In Outlook, click File > Info > Tools > Mailbox Cleanup.
2. Choose the View Mailbox Size option which scans the size of your mailbox and all of the subfolders. This is a great way to target which folders are the biggest contributors to your large mailbox so you can clean these up first.

Empty Deleted Items

1. In Outlook on your Desktop or Browser, right click on Deleted Items.
2. Click on Empty Folder.
3. Click Delete all to confirm.

Empty the Junk Email folder

Periodically empty the Junk Email folder to save your inbox space for messages you actually want.
