After Multi-Factor Authentication has been enabled on your account, you will be required to set up your multi-factor authentication method. You will see the "More information required" screen as it shows below when you sign in and open Outlook.
- When prompted that more information is required, click Next
- On the setup screen, choose to use Authenticator App. Please note that if you plan to travel internationally in the future (and for some reason want to check in), You'll need to set up the mobile app so you won't have to pay international phone charges.
- Note: Please make sure to use the Authenticator App instead of phone text (SMS). The Authenticator App is more secure and will provide more information if the MFA is being challenged by an attack.
- Once you have downloaded the app on your mobile device, select Next, then select "Work or School" and select Next again.
- You will be prompted to scan the QR Code on your mobile device. Open the camera app and then scan the QR Code. Select Next.
- You will be immediately prompted in your Authenticator app to approve the authentication. Click Approve on your mobile device. And on your laptop, select Next.
- You will get a notification that you have successfully enrolled in MFA. Select Done.
