Purpose:
This article provides step-by-step instructions for installing Google Authenticator on Android devices. Google Authenticator can be used to enroll into multiple apps that require Multi-factor Authentication (MFA).
This article is specific to Android devices. For iPhone/iPad click here.
Installing Google Authenticator
- Open “Play Store”
, search for “Google Authenticator”, and tap “Install”.

Tap “Open” when the authenticator installation is complete.
- Tap "Get started" on the "Stronger security with Google Authenticator" welcome screen.

You can choose from the following Google Authenticator profile options:

Continue as (current Google account): Allows you to use your personal account to store authenticator codes.
Note: If you have codes stored here already on a different device, they will automatically migrate over to the new device.

Add another account: Allows you to add your work account (@apps.teamschools.org or @kippmiami.org Google account) to store authenticator codes. (Setup Work Profile - Android)
Note: If you have codes stored here already on a different device, they will automatically migrate over to the new device.

Use without an account: Codes will not migrate over to a new device.
